We brought 2 hutches and placed them back to back, braced together on top of the L-shaped desks to create 2 private "cubicles". They were not easy to assemble, but they look very attractive and professional, plus the storage is great. Just the right size for our business office in our home.

All in all, this is a lovely desk/hutch. However on the hutch (, there were some pieces that did not want to go together and we had to made do with what we were provided. Seams don't line up right. The instruction manual often gives you information AFTER you need it. Also, it is written poorly.

I waited to write this review until after I had set up and installed the hutch on the L shaped desk. I love that you can put it on either side of the L shaped desk which made things nice for room placement planning. I'm not too keen on the backer-board, I think it's the one part of the whole setup where it makes it look kinda cheap. I'm considering taking it off (as I only put in enough nails to hold it so my wife and I could decide if we wanted it on or off). I think it would look nice anyway to be able to see some of the wall color through the back. As with the desk I'm also not sure why people complain about the install. Every piece was well marked and the instructions were great. You will not benefit from a engineering degree as some tout, I don't have one and I had this completed on my own in about 1 and maybe a half hours. One thing that will help is a ratcheting screwdriver and organizing all the parts alphabetically (as they are labeled) so when the instructions say a part you are not searching and wasting time. A gram of prevention is worth a pound of cure...save yourself time and do some proper preparation : ) Enjoy this purchase as I now will too.

Liked all the features of the hutch, especially the glass doors. The wire management need work. The cutouts on the back of the hutch were all too high/visible. I'll have to come up with a creative to hide the cables. I would have preferred for cutouts at the lower corners...

Awesome Hutch to Match Desk!!

This hutch is perfect to match with the desk. Fits perfect on the desktop!! Adds more storage for papers, books, software, etc. Definitely a great buy and well worth the cost!! Color is perfect and matches the rest of my furniture! Makes the whole office look great! Highly recommended with the purchase of the desk!

Wood veneer is too thin and hutch is junk
Pros: easy to build
Cons: thin veneer, worn look after 2 months, high price for junk
For the high price it is built like dollar store junk.
The wood veneer is so pathetic and thin it is wearing off after 2 months wher my arms rub on the edges.
MY last desk lasted 10 years and never wore on the veneer.
Scotch tape ripped a piece right off. Thinner than tissue paper.
NOT by any standards a quality product for the high price charged.
Stay away!!!

After putting the L Shaped Desk together this hutch was a breeze. It still took us a good hour and a ½ and whereas I think one person can put together the desk you will need two people for the final touches on this (potentially during assembly of the top piece and to move it from the floor to your desk upon completion). This hutch is very functional unlike other hutches I’ve seen for this price. Both of my cabinets have tempered glass unlike what is shown in the picture which, in my opinion, makes it look more elegant. I did not attach the hutch to my desk, or to the wall (both options are available), and it is VERY sturdy. I love all the space and my desk would not look as wonderful as it does without it! We bought the desk and the hutch, they were easy to assemble, however, they are HEAVY and it does take 2 people and you must follow the directions to the letter. It is a beautiful piece of furniture and has tons of storage used properly.

I like this hutch because there is more storage for my books. It was not hard to assemble compare to the desk, but a lot of pins to screw. I got it for a special price of $99 and the desk $100, it's worth the price and quality.
I made few scratches but it's easy to fix it by simply using a dark brown marker, no one will see the difference.

Nice addition to the L desk

I placed this on the right side of the L desk where it fits perfectly and works better for me functionally. I also chose to leave the lower part of the back off of the hutch to let my wall color show through - looks nice and does not affect the sturdiness. A side note - from the photo I thought that the panel inserts in the cabinet doors were black but they are textured glass. Not a problem, just mentioned it so others know. This is heavy, you will need a second person to lift onto the desk. Would buy again!

I purchased 2 of the desks and got the hutch for free for both. The instructions were excellent, and all of the pieces were marked. It took me about 1.5 hours on the first hutch, and about 1 for the second one. Perfect addition to the corner desk. Gives you more storage.

This hutch ads alot more space to the Magellan L shaped desk or the corner desk.
The hutch is a lot easier to put together than the desk with a lot less pieces and hardware. The combination of hutch and desk looks great. Very professional!
