Very nice printer
Pros: Display Screen, easy to use, features, Performance, value for money, design, quiet Cons: paper feed
I agree with all the previous reviews although I have a problem with the paper feeding in straight. Sometimes the paper feeds crooked thereby making my copies crooked. Other then that one glitch, I would buy another in a heartbeat. As a matter of fact, two of my co-workers purchased one as well - they liked mine that much. I researched printers prior to purchasing - its very nice to know my coworkers value my opinion!

Excellent Printer
Pros: features, Performance, value for money, design Cons: sound quality
This is the second Canon printer that I have purchased. I love both of them. The best feature, for me, of this machine is the automatic duplex printing. I also only buy printers that have seperate cartridges for the color ink, less wasteful. I would recommend this machine to anyone!

Excellent: highly recommended
Pros: Performance, value for money, design, network scanning, built-in networking, fast, print quality, dual paper trays, individual inks plus pigment black
I have previously owned HP, Epson, and Canon printers and multifunction. My previous unit was a Canon MP500, which just died. I researched units extensively and read consistently strong reviews about this unit. I have had it for a few days and wanted to pass on a few thoughts:
1) I have multiple users accessing this machine. You can print and scan over a computer network. The network scanning feature is a God-send. No more needing to plug in via USB. Scanning is also very fast and quiet. Network scanning (on a Mac) is also available from the top of the screen as an icon, which is a time-saver!!
2) Print quality is exceptional. If you want the best quality printing, you need to use matte or glossy paper. You get five inks including the black pigment ink that produces deep, rich blacks.
3) It's fast. Scanning and printing are speedy.
4) Many remark that it is big. Well, yes and no. I have an HP3330 MFP laser printer and the HP3330 is bigger/taller. For everything the MX850 does, I find it to be a good size.
5) Dual paper trays so that you can have different paper (example: letterhead in tray 1 and photo paper in tray 2) is great.
6) Included software is quick, intuitive and highly productive.
7) auto-feeder is great and scans either single sided or duplex and you can tell the printer whether you want items scanned as individual documents or as a composite PDF.
Finally, I have been impressed with Canon. The MP500 was my first Canon printer and I really liked it. With the MX850 I think you've got a solid, high performance printer, fax machine, scanner, and copier that can be used on a computer network and shared across multiple computers. I'm a power user, so I'm not as daunted by user interfaces, but Canon has done a great job of making this a well laid out and easy to use unit with a great LCD screen. This looks like a major step up in features from the MP500 that I had and for me, the built-in computer networking capabilities makes it a hands-down winner. I highly recommend this unit and I am not disappointed at all.

Powerful Features - Easy To Use
Pros: easy to use, features, Performance, value for money, design Cons: network setup guide - not real clear
This is my first Canon printer/all in one purchase ever and I love it. I've been an HP fan for years. However, after reading the reviews on the HP all in one products I knew I needed to consider an alternative. So I did, and have absolutely no regrets. The setup was a piece of cake with a USB connection. The network connection to two other wireless computers in my home was a snap (took about 5 minutes each) and worked the first time. The automatic document feeder is fast for multi-page scans and copies. The software that comes with the MX850 is easy to use. Color printing quality is superb - black and white quality is excellent but not quite as crisp as my old HP Businessjet 2230 (not enough difference, however, to be of any concern). Faxing is easy and copying two-sided documents is amazing. All in all this is one incredible unit for the price.

MX850 - Excellence!!
Pros: quality, features, ease of set up and use Cons: none so far...
This is my first Canon purchase, and it won't be my last. I have owned my MX850 AIO for four months, and it has proven to be excellent for my uses at home. Set-up was a breeze, and everything has functioned flawlessly. In particular, I like the dual paper trays and the two-sided copy feature. This unit has very good copy speeds. Much better than the HP it replaced. Text copy is very good, although better can be had in higher end units. For home use it has been more than fine. You can read for yourselves all the features this AIO has, and it has many. I have previously owned several HP's, and this Canon blows them away. You will NOT be disappointed in this All-In-One offering from Canon.
