big and bulky

Pros: durability, nice modern design
Cons: time consuming to put together, design was not well thought out, diifcult to move once assembled
I bought this desk and hutch in 2007. I have moved once from FL to SC and the desk traveled well. It has held up well and looks as good as it did when I bought. Two things that are big negatives for me and had I researched a little more I wouldn't have bought this desk. The first one is that drawer front for the hidden keyboard drawer is mounted on the underneath side which when opened makes typing very uncomfortable as the transition from the keyboard drawer to the drawer front is not a continuous flat surface and your wrists rest on the uneven edge. I finally just took the drawer front cover off. The second thing is; didn't really think about it until I had to move the desk but once you attach the hutch that's it. You will tear up the desk if you try to remove it since the backing extends the whole length of the desk and hutch. The movers were really happy with me!

Know BEFORE you buy!!

Pros: beautiful finish, lots of storage space
Cons: extremely time consuming, bad design on attaching hutch, heavy, back piece is thin cardboard and unattractive, hundreds of pieces
Ok, so I purchased this desk, the hutch and the file cabinet. Here is my background and opinion of this furniture.
First, I am very capable of reading detailed instructions and building/assembling things. I was a bit shocked when the furniture arrived in a UPS Freight Truck (a 53' Semi to be exact.) Luckily, we are somewhat set up to have truck traffic in and out of our property, but barely. I have no idea how we would have brought this furniture in if we were not set up this way. Second, NOTHING was pre-assembled, so be prepared to spend A LOT of time putting this together. I am not saying that it is difficult, but it is extremely time consuming, With the 3 pieces we purchased it took at total time of 10 hours for two very capable adults with the proper tools. Lastly, you will need extra hardware to attach the hutch to the desk. The 3 screws they provided pulled out of the wood instanty.

Great Buy

Pros: Appearance/Design, comfortable, features, functional, Well Made/ Sturdy
Cons: Size & Weight
I purchased just about the whole collection (credenza w/hutch, storage cabinet w/hutch, and 'library' ie bookshelf. I hated our previous office furniture - bore the college dorm look, and wanted something more grown-up, without being too country or too executive. This is a great set that has meet all those expectations. Also, because we are using our living room, as an office, one of the initial things that attracted me to the collection is the storage, and the fact that it is concealed. I can't express how much I love the set. It did take me a while to put everything together. But the longest part was waiting for my husband to come home, and lift certain pieces that were too heavy once partially assembled. But, it was his gift, so I insisted on doing all the assembly; but I'm glad I did because I saved so much money, and it was simple. The only negative is the description says it accommodates all folder sizes, but the drawers are too small for legal folders to go from front to back, so you have to file sideways. Also, another con, unrelated to the furniture, was getting the furniture in the rm. The man that delivered it was by himself, and wheeled it in (our garage) on a dolly. When I asked him about carrying it into the living room (which is the 1st room off the foyer, on the 1st floor), he in-so-many words said it was too heavy; and the initial people that I was going to hire to assemble it, said the furniture had to already be at its final destination. When I explained it was a surprise, and I would need help lifting individual boxes, she suggested opening them & bringing each item in piecemeal; which is when I decided to just do it myself.

I reccomend this one :-)

I have had this desk for two and a half years now. It has even moved overseas with me. Very sturdy, great quality, and has a great look to it. Being a military family we move often and need to be able to keep all our important papers close at hand. The desk itself has just enough space for that. The computer storage area is large enough to fit my oversized Alienware and still has plenty of air flow. I didnt care for the flip part on the key board area. Looks great, but got in the way of my armrests on my chair. I just took it off, and you cant tell anything is missing. Still looks great. I definately reccomend.
