Not Pleased
Cons: Build Quality, performance

I have had this unit for 10 months. It has been replaced once & has just stopped working again. When it works it is fairly easy to use, but I run a city office & cannot be without a fax/copier. The last time it quit it took almost 2 weeks to get a replacement from HP. It's good for about 4-6 months & then goes dead.

It works great in my office
Pros: easy to use, features, Performance, value for money, design, quiet

I do use a USB cable to connect so I've had no trouble with faxes - sending or receiving - no problem with dust or dirt on the screen - in fact, no problems at all - I'm a CPA and it gets used A LOT - I've far exceeded it's "limits" with number of pages printed etc. and I'm really pleased - and I always get 2,000 to 3,000 pages more out of the X sized toner cartridge so I'm pleased with it's operating costs, too -

OK printer/scanner, lousy FAX
Pros: fast operation
Cons: Build Quality, reliability

I've had this printer for 5 months, in a small business environment.
The printing, scanning and copying functions work fine. If that's all you need, this printer will do well for you. It also sends FAXes well. If you need to reliably receive FAXes, look for another product.
The setup procedures were acceptable, but assume (incorrectly in this case) that the printer will be USB connected. The Firmware can ONLY be updated over USB. Also, I wasn't able to install the drivers on a Virtual Machine (VMare Server doesn't map USB devices), even if "Network Only" is specified.
The software took ~30 minutes to install on a fast laptop. This is excessive.
The document feeder is designed to drop dirt/dust on the scanning area, right over the scanner. This causes lines to quickly appear on copies, scans and FAXes. Frequent cleaning of the copy glass is critical.
I've had this printer replaced twice, due to problems with receiving FAXes. It still drops FAXes, and I expect it will until it's discontinued.
I've requested that HP either replace this unit with a different model, or refund the purchase price.
