Pros: there are quickbooks proadvisors to help you., try to find a proadvisor who is also an rsp.
Cons: setting it up yourself can be problematic.
I have to give QuickBooks BASIC a low rating but QuickBooks Point of Sale PRO a superior rating.
I am a QuickBooks ProAdvisor and have worked with more than 60 companies that have purchased QuickBooks Point of Sale. They are users of Basic, Pro and Pro Multi-Store. Do not buy Basic, buy the Point of Sale Pro. Not one of my customers has been happy with Basic and they always have to spend the extra money to upgrade to Pro. You might as well buy the Pro right away.
QuickBooks Point of Sale Pro is a fantastic product, very stable and reliable. There are QuickBooks ProAdvisors available almost everywhere to help you get it set up properly right away. Setting it up yourself is very time consuming and often fraught with errors. You will save yourself a lot of grief by having professional help right away. Try to find a ProAdvisor who is a member of QuickBooks Retail Solutions Provider Program (RSP).
