Very Nice!
Pros: fine looking furniture, easy assembly
Cons: none
Met expectations. OK, they're not fine furniture but I didn't buy them expecting fine furniture. Sturdy. Nice looking. Met my needs exactly. Came unassembled but go together easily and quickly. Considering buying another one for storage/organizing purposes in another room.

Piece of Junk
Pros: none
Cons: not realspace product, cheap pasteboard contruction, realistic nail on backboard, assembly instructions vague
This is not a Realspace product but a Sauder pasteboard piece of junk. The End Mouldings, Part H, split apart when sliding them into position. Over all not impressed. When you order replacement parts for Sauder, they are free, but not without shipping and handling which will cost plenty given the weight of the parts.

Better than expected
Pros: functional, Appearance/Design
Cons: Easily Damaged, Size & Weight
The bookcase was better than expected. The shelves are thick enough to hold our case binders. I appreciated having the marker to color in any nick or marks. The assembly was pretty simple. It is very heavy based upon what it is made of. Overall I would recommend this as a quick fix for any offfice - I bought it on sale and may buy another if needed.

Review 4 for Realspace® Premium Wide Bookcase, 5-Shelf, 72 1/8H x 35 3/8W x 13 5/8D, Classic Cherry
Looks good, study and thick shelves, but actually it is very fragile, very thin shelves. It should be less than $40. I put some books which are less than 25 Lb total on each shelves, and you can see all shelves bent. Good looking, but not worth of the price you pay. I also, bought Realspace® Broadstreet Contoured U-Shaped Desk and Hutch same thing very poor quality. Very thin boards and will be very risky to move after you assemble.
Advice, go to local Office Deport Store and review this item before you buy online. This is really good show piece, but not for heavy or normal use, it wobbles most of the time.

bookcase
Pros: Appearance/Design
Cons: Easily Damaged, Quality: Flimsy, Wobbles
Typical particle board construction. Bought 3 bookcases. Third one fell apart when I tried to stand it up. I would suggest you spend the 40 dollars to have the store assemble these bookcases in your home or office.

Very nice look
Nice bookcase with great overall look. Easy assembly and came with good instructions. I bought four of these for my home office, put them all together and filled them with books all in about three to four hours.

Looks more expensive than it was
Pros: looks great
Cons: shelf weights seem a little light
A previous reviewer commented on the difficult assembly, but I found the assembly to be easier than other purchases. Looks great. I have loaded this bookshelf completely with books and it is perfect for what I wanted.

Very good - a bear to assemble!
Obviously at this price you aren't buying fine furniture, but in a modest upscale office like mine it blends in nicely and gets the job done. I am a practicing physician and academic, so I have a ton of books. I needed lots of shelf space and something functional. Putting all the pieces together, on the other hand, took me the better part of 2-3 hours, and I worked up quite a sweat even in the air conditioned office. There are dozens of little nails that hold on the back piece, and the design is sort of like a giant puzzle with good directions. But that's all good, because it's solid and sturdy. Once it's done it looks very nice and in my mind rivals bookcases costing hundreds of dollars more. It's not the sort of bookcase that stands up to a cabinet maker's close examination, but from across the room it just looks fine. Office Depot will assemble these for you in most places, and if I get another one I will let them do it. If you're handy at this sort of thing, or if you have a helper, it's not hard to assemble. By the way, it is very heavy, so you're not going to pick up the package and toss it into the back of your Toyota Corolla.

Review 9 for Realspace® Premium Wide Bookcase, 5-Shelf, 72 1/8H x 35 3/8W x 13 5/8D, Classic Cherry
Color looks just like image online. Easy assembly. Not sure about negative comments with regard to shelf weight limits. The shelves are 5/8" particle board with a slide on molding in the front, I suppose over time they could sag if loaded down with a full row of hard covers. If you're buying this like I did to match decor, look nice, and be practical, just use common sense and balance the weight. If you need a heavy duty shelf, buy a solid wood bookshelf. For home office, this looks great and is practical.

Love the Quality, Love the Price!
I've needed a good quality (read sturdy) book case for awhile and found this one that was in the price range that I could afford, so my husband and I went the local Office Depot and after looking it over bought it. It was very easy to piece together, it took the pair of us less than an hour, and once it was together even my husband, who's very picking on how things are constructed, admitted it was a quality for the time and money. I love the depth of the shelves and their ability to hold quite a few books/magazines without breaking a sweat! I will definitely be getting another one of these in the near future!

Great bookcase - bought a second one
Great purchase. I am very pleased with this purchase, and I just ordered a second one. The bookcase is sturdy and looks great in my office. It was easy to assemble (it took me about 45 minutes). It is heavy so prepare accordingly. The delivery guys carried the box up to my second floor office. Be sure you have enough room to assemble; if space is tight you may want to slide the front molding pieces onto the large side pieces before attaching any shelves. Another suggestion for assembly: when attaching the bottom molding, screw the brackets onto the bottom molding first, then attach molding to the bottom of the bookcase.

Great value
I purchased 2 of these and just finished assembling them - took under an hour to assemble both. I took a chance buying these instead of the Bush Series C bookcases that match my home office furniture, but are much more expensive. I am impressed by both their construction and style and am extremely satisfied.

looks great, but...
Pros: Appearance/Design
Cons: shelves are rated to hold only 25 lbs!
This "bookcase" looks nice, but the assembly instructions say the shelves only hold 25 lbs each-- that would be less than half full of books. The picture on the Office Depot web site with just a few knickknacks on them is a more suitable use, even though this item is called a "bookcase".

Love it
Pros: Appearance/Design, functional
Cons: some pieces might not slide into place
I bought this bookcase with a desk that matched it about 1 year ago. So far, it has held up wonderfully. I have it completly loaded with books and a set of encyclopedias (yes, some people still have them). The only problem I had was with the front/top shelf/slide piece: it doesn't fit right. But it's not too noticable. I do like the fact that either the bookshelf or the desk ( not sure which) came with a brown pen to help hide scratches. I thought it was funny and cheap, until I moved the bookcase and scratched it. I used the pen and voila! scratch gone (not noticable). I bought more books and now I will be buying another bookcase, same type.

Solid Piece for the Price
Pros: Appearance/Design, Quality of Material, Size & Weight, Well Made/ Sturdy, easy to assemble
Despite not being solid wood, this bookshelf is solid and great for the price. It looks really nice with the moldings put on it. It looks more expensive than it is.
Additionally, I am a 26 year old female (5'7, 100 lbs), and I was able to construct this shelf in a few hours on my own. It was very easy with just a hammer, screwdriver, and instruction booklet. I'm impressed with how clear the instructions were and how easy the installation was. Of course, be careful moving the box--because it is extremely heavy. And be warned that it will be difficult to move the bookshelf around your home or apartment after it's put together if you don't have someone to help you. I ket the three removable shelfs off until I got the shelf where I wanted it, which made moving it a little easier.
It's great that the Office Depot people can deliver the boxes to your home or apt--especially if you don't have a truck to haul the large, heavy boxes from the store.
All in all, great buy for the money. I am not disappointed, and I'll be putting together a second shelf tomorrow!

Highly Recommend
Pros: Appearance/Design, Well Made/ Sturdy
Purchased for $140. Parts were labeled correctly and assembled in less than 1 hour. Quality is not perfect, but you get what you pay for. Finish looks great and product is sturdy. I am planning to buy another.

Review 18 for Realspace® Premium Wide Bookcase, 5-Shelf, 72 1/8H x 35 3/8W x 13 5/8D, Classic Cherry
We are happy with this bookcase — now that its assembly is behind us! There were some issues ... Cat2581 was right about there being some mislabeled parts. And like PapaRog, we had a piece of "slide-on" front molding that wouldn't slide on for love or money. I got a tad medieval on the thing ... covered the end of the molding with a towel and hit it with a hammer to FORCE it along. (Wouldn't recommend everybody do that. This is, after all, engineered wood with a thin veneer, and the veneer at the end of the piece buckled slightly as a result of the hammering.) The finished product is a beautiful thing to behold, except for some narrow side gaps where part of the top molding doesn't quite meet the body of the bookcase. Despite these issues, we'd buy another.

TERRIBLE-DO NOT BUY
Pros: Appearance/Design
Cons: Difficult to Assemble, Easily Damaged, Quality: Flimsy, Unaligned, Wobbles
I bought bookshelves from Office Depot before and they were great, but this is the worst, cheapest quality and hardest to assemble bookshelf that I have ever purchased.
I am very good at putting things together, but it is hard to do when the parts are NOT labeled correctly, there were four different parts that were mislabeled!
The two main boards fell apart when I was flipping the bookshelf over (and yes, I assembled it correctly).
Do not buy THIS bookshelf, but if you do, be ever so careful when flipping it over so that the main shelves do not fall apart after you put them on one side.

I love this bookcase, as the other reviewers comment looks nothing like picture, but actually better as if more expensive than what it is. I get comments on this book case all the time. I am actually going to purchase another one. Was very easy to assemble my son and I put together in about 20-30 minutes.
