Great TV - love it
Pros: easy to use, features, Performance, value for money, design, audio quality
We purchased the Olevia 242V at Office Depot last March (2008). We loved it from the start even though we didn't yet subscribe to HD programming. We added the HD programming this summer and WOW! It is just incredible. So crisp, so clear! Truly stunning. The unit has many, many inputs for every conceivable device and certainly more than meets our needs. Audio quality is also quite good. We do use theater surround for movies and special events, but the TV's own sound is pretty darn good. At this price, it truly is a best buy. Wish I had one for my bedroom now!

Great bargain
Recently bought the 242V version, and its more than met my expectations. Great value for $700,especially when compared to models that cost well over $1000. The HD picture is stunning. Crisp, clear vibrant colors. The only slight drawback is the lack of a written manual, contained instead on a disc, but thats a minor quibble. No reason to buy a more expensive TV when you can get this quality at this price. Highly recommended.

Great Picture & Sound
Pros: great value for the price, excellent picture, easy setup, plenty of input options, smart remote seeks out cable co Cons: tough to find store in stock, there are no reasons not to buy this
This set is as good if not better than our Sharp which we paid over $2,000 for. Unlike what others have written here, our set came with both a 72 page manual and a CD for instructions. In less than 10 minutes my 15 yr old son had his X-box up and running and he had prgrammed the Verizon Fios stations along with the remote control. The only change we made to the factory settings was to add a bit more color which was a personal preference to deepen the overall presentation. We have played videos off our laptop computer on it as well as posted digital photos directly from our camera, all with absolutely great picture presentation. I don't know if there is a shortage of these right now (Labor Day weekend) but it took searching in seven stores to find this model- the 242-T as opposed to the 242-V which is a wider screen presentation. You will not regret making the purchase.

Can't Beat ... for the Price!
Pros: picture quality, price Cons: remote is not universal, cd no book
I bought this after Thanksgiving for only $699.00!! It is as good as any of the TVs selling in the $1500 range. I love it and with some added surround sound and Blu-Ray DVD, you'd believe you were in the theater watching a movie for the first time!

Best Bang for the Buck
Pros: cost, picture quality, digital picture and sound
Best quality for the price. 1080i HTV HDMI digital picture and sound is impressive. HD stations are crisp and clear. Do not notice lag in sports, no pixelation. Upgradeable with USB drive from online customer service. Saving up to buy a second unit.

GREAT DEAL...
Pros: price, picture quality Cons: quality??, no paper manuals, menu operations
Just purchased this unit for family member. Took it home to compare to my NEW $2000 LCD SAMSUNG and guess what!!! I did not make any adjustments, only turned it on the picture was MUCH better than the Samsumg. Facial details/skin color, colors during football and grass "grain" while watching golf was SUPERIOR to the Samsung. For $850 this unit is a steal. FYI...you will probably see two versions available...the T version has the speakers on the bottom and the V version has them on the side. Who says you have to pay over $2000 to get the best. This TV is worth considering if on a budget! I am on my way back to the place of my purchase to make sure the Samsung isn't broken!

Category Killer
I purchased the Olevia 242T 42" for a mount on my master bedroom wall. This was just a tv to watch the news on as we fall asleep at night. Wow. To my surpise this tv is a category killer. On the lower cost end of LCD's this tv has far beyond exceeded our expectations. One of the best electronic purchases I have ever made.
Don't let mounting it on the wall scare you. The manual really does not tell you how to take the base off. Simply remove 16 screws and it slides right off. Easy stuff once we played with it.
The only drawback is the manual is on a disc and not a paper book which made it a chore to get it set up.
But, with the tv on the wall now all is good and forgiven as for the price this is an exceptional buy.
