Good desk, but not for the inexperienced
Pros: good size desk--plenty of room, straight-forward assembly (unless you're a newbie)
Cons: packaging needs to be beefed up
I read the reviews before buying this desk, and it wasn't that hard to put together. However, I've got several years worth of experience putting together stuff like this, so if you've never assembled a desk like this, be prepared to take some time and study the diagrams carefully. They are no better nor worse than what most companies provide with ready-to-assemble furniture. Is the desk flimsy? Only as flimsy as particle board normally is. In other words, if you want a really solid desk, be prepared to find one made of hardwood (or good plywood) and spend hundreds of dollars more. I personally beefed up several parts of the desk with metal brackets and screws (which aren't visible) to ensure it will hold up to moves.
One gripe I do have--whoever designed the packaging for the carton could have done a better job, and the guys delivering the carton could have paid better attention to the "THIS SIDE UP" labels on the carton. They had ignored it, and the contents had shifted significantly inside the carton. Luckily, however, I did not find anything damaged.

What a mistake
Pros: attractive but damaged
Cons: horrible construction experience, cheaply made all particle board, flimsy, terrible instructions - photos only a lot of guess
This desk might look nice but putting it together was a horrible experience. Three different times it broke, twice seriously where I had to use my own things and screw it back together. Not to mention it took almost a week. Very flimsy and very cheaply made and breaks easily. Now that it's together I can't even bring myself to like it because it was such a nightmare. Not to mention all the places I can see the damage that I somehow have to touch up. I dread ever having to move it because it will not hold up. Buy something else, don't make the mistake I did.

ASSEMBLY IS A BEAR!!
Pros: Appearance/Design, features, functional, Quality of Material, Well Made/ Sturdy
Cons: Difficult to Assemble
The guy who wrote the first review has it right! It took my husband about the same amount of time assemble this desk for me. That being said...I also got the great price on this desk and it was well worth it!! I am one that has to have a hutch and this one is just perfect. The footprint is also perfect. Not too big, but plenty of desk space. At the great sale price who could pass this one up!! Absolutely a great purchase for me!!

Nice desk, but arduous assembly
Pros: great price, nice desk
Cons: assembly not easy, mediocre instructions
When Office Depot put this hutch /desk on sale, it is was too good to pass up. I have assembled similar office furniture before and have the portable power screw/drill drivers to speed up assembly. I was expecting between 4-5 hours tops for assembly, but it took 8.5 hours to complete. Be prepared to break up the assembly time over 2-3 days. You have to look very closely at the diagrams in the instruction book provided, as there are no written directions that say "Make sure that edge of drawer guide aligns with mounting block A". So the instructions should be better, and some of the parts need color coded stickers to insure that the correct surfaces come together. That said, now that I am finally done, the desk is very nice, and the sale price of $199 alleviates some the of assembly headache.
