Excellent Desk for Value

Pros: Quality of Material, functional, features, Appearance/Design, Well Made/ Sturdy
The desk looks awesome in my bedroom. It is very roomy on the desk space and well put together. My husband and son put it together and did not have any problems. Key is to take your time and read the directions carefully. It does take some time. 3+ hours to do it right. Love it. So glad I purchased it. Shipping took a little longer than stated, but it was worth the wait. We also purchased the hutch and it goes very nicely together. Would recommend both!

Excellent Desk

Pros: Quality of Material, Appearance/Design, Well Made/ Sturdy, price
I was a little apprehensive before buying this desk, based on many of the reviews I read about the difficulty of putting it together. But I found that by taking my time and being careful about matching up the correct pieces, while it was somewhat time consuming (maybe about five hours, with breaks), I was able to put it together without any problems. I also did not use any glues, etc., which some have suggested. I feel that I have ended up with a very sturdy desk that feels quite solid. I am able to lift it up by the top and move it around, no problem. Also, probably pure luck, but everything fit together nicely, all the drawers and shelving fits together squarely, nothing is ill-fitting. I also bought their matching three shelf bookcase, which feels equally as solid. So I would have to say for both, excellent design.

Excellent Value for the $$$

Pros: functional, Appearance/Design, comfortable, Size & Weight, Well Made/ Sturdy
Purchased this on-sale at the local Office Depot. Desk with hutch are beautiful - sturdy and very functional. Instructions were easy to follow. Used wood glue (recommended by previous review) to insure stability. Take your time during assembly - it will eliminate any mistakes !! Very impressed and pleased with the unit.

Good buy for the money

Pros: Quality of Material, functional, features, Appearance/Design, comfortable, Size & Weight, Well Made/ Sturdy
I bought two of the desks on sale and feel it was an extremely good buy. The assembly takes some time and thought. The instructions are very good and have to be followed exactly. The materials, components, and hardware was as specified. I don't think one can go wrong for the cost.

really solid desk

Pros: functional, Appearance/Design, Well Made/ Sturdy
I bought this desk to replace a cheap corner unit i bought while living in an apartment with tight space. The desk ended up replacing that, a printer cart and a file cabinet. The surface space is big enough for all my needs then some. Very happy, it took me about 3 1/2 hours to put together with no hiccups in the process. The only downfall is not much clearance on the keyboard shelf. Tried putting my mouse and pad on it but had to pull it out to use because my hand wouldn't fit in the opening with the mouse.

A decent desk at a decent price

Pros: functional, Appearance/Design, Size & Weight
Cons: Easily Damaged, Unaligned
I don't usually take the time to do reviews but I'll make an exception for this item. My only question that I have is how do they make a product like this for the money?
This is not, by any means, a fine piece of furniture. But it is a good desk to use in a home office. It is made of all particle board but if it is assembled properly it becomes an extremely strong (and heavy) work station. I don't think it will stand up to too much abuse such as hitting anything against it, because it is particle board with a very thin veneer of some sort covering it. If you put it in a typical teenagers room, don't expect it to look pretty for too long.
There have been several people's reviews before me that suggested using glue when assembling this desk. I personally thing it should be a requirement to make the desk as strong as it can be. The cog type of fasteners are pretty good in the way they hold the individual panels in place, but I don't think they they would hold up if you have to move the desk around. My impression was, that without glue, the upper desk panel would come loose from the lower cabinet portions if you lifted the desk from the upper desk edges. As I said the cog fasteners are pretty ingenious, but I wouldn't rely on them alone for long term strength.
I took the extra time to glue all the panels (I used the white Elmers wood glue) together as I assembled them and then took a break from the assembly until the glue dried before going on to the next step. I know that most people are not going to have the patience to do this, but it will result in a much stronger product.
You should also take the time to properly align the draw slides and door hinges so they align properly. Get some extra felt bumpers to put on the drawers and door so it quiets the banging sound when you close them. I also added some plastic furniture slides on the bottom edges of the desk to allow it to slide on the carpet floor a little easier.
I was fortunate to get this item during a sale when it was priced at $99 and as I said earlier, I don't know how they can sell it for that price. After I finished the desk, I was so impressed by it, I ordered the matching side table for my printer.
One other caveat, carefully examine all of the panels as you unpack them. I discovered a damage on one of the corners of the desktop halfway thru the assembly. The local Office Depot store was nice enough to exchange the panel at their local store, even though I had purchased the desk online and had it delivered.

Not worth the money

Pros: features, comfortable, Appearance/Design
Cons: Easily Damaged, Difficult to Assemble, Quality: Flimsy
This desk may look nice, but looks are deceiving. It's very hard to adjust the doors and drawers so they open and shut properly. It took two hours to assemble it. And, unless you also glue it, don't attempt to move it too many times.

Reasonable desk for price paid

Pros: functional, Appearance/Design, Well Made/ Sturdy, Size & Weight
Very few problems with assembly despite less than clear instructions. Too much time spent trying to determine what drawer slide went where. The rest of the assembly was pretty straight forward. Desk seems sturdy after completion and will work well in a home office environment. Total time to assemble was about 3 1/2 hours

Good desk of great value

Pros: Appearance/Design, Well Made/ Sturdy, Size & Weight
Cons: Easily Damaged, Difficult to Assemble, Quality: Flimsy, Wobbles
This is the best desk I've ever bought in my life. We recently moved into a small apartment, and we decided to by a wooden computer desk that fits into our living room well.
Size: This desk has the perfect dimension 60L x 24W. It does not take much space in the room, but it gives us a lot of work space on the desk. Five stars for the size. If we need to move it out of our home, it'll be super easy.
Quality: I got this desk when it was on sale. But the desk does not feel cheap. It feels sturdy. When we move it, I dont think it'll fall apart.
Assembly: This is a pain in my neck. I spent four hours at night to put it together. The only reason is the instruction guide is poor written and not user friendly. It took me 1.5 hrs to put on all the drawer and cabinet rails, no markings on them! most of the pieces do not come with any markings. So grab a iced water and take a breat, you are not going to get this thing assembled in two hours.
Other: There are only four cushions coming with desk. I put two on the cabinet door, the other two on the two drawers. But when I closed the doors, I can still hear a big bang...

it is a good heavy particle board desk

Pros: Quality of Material, functional, comfortable, Appearance/Design, Well Made/ Sturdy, Size & Weight
Cons: instructions can be confusing
good desk, especially for the money. it will take a couple of hours to put together, just pay close attention to the instructions and ban anyone from bothering you while you do it, it does take some concentration. it also can be done by your self but will take two people to move it once completed

Good Home Office Desk

Pros: very pretty and sturdy
Cons: none
I purchased this desk along with the matching file cabinet and bookcase less than a month ago. The items were delivered by truck and all pieces were intact. The instructions were complete and I had little trouble putting it together. The color is very nice and the appearance exceeded my expectations. I like the wide keyboard drawer. Although the PC tower compartment could be larger it still works for my full tower if I leave the door ajar. The hardware is sturdy and all parts fit perfectly.

If you can wait for the shipping

Pros: solid and beautiful
Cons: shipping
This desk is beautiful. As most of the other reviewer's said you need to take your time putting it together as is the case with most of the assembly required furniture I have previously bought but it is solid and I even picked it up (with help) and moved it after getting it assembled without it feeling like it was going to break apart. The most frustrating part was that the estimated delivery date and actual delivery date were 4 days apart (later) and all Office Depot reps could tell me was "Sorry" over and over.

A Great Product

This is a well designed and well made piece of furniture. There are two secrets to assembling it; Reads the directions, then read them again. Read the codes on each piece and take your time doing the assembling. You will be rewarded with a very fine piece of furniture that is solidly built. If I needed another desk, I would buy this one again.

Cons: no assembly instructions!
No assembly instructions and you cannot retrieve online...what? In todays online market place you have to have them retrievalbe online or ensure you include them. Made by Sauder and they are only accesible Mon- Fri and you cannot look this item up on their site. Worst experience ever!

Good desk

Pros: good quality, beautiful finish., excellent price
Cons: not the easiest assembly
I have to agree with everyone else. This is a very good desk for the money, especially on sale like it was when I bought it. It's cheap, but doesn't look or feel cheap once it's assembled. The brushed maple coloring I figured would help hide the eventual nicks and dents as it has a very natural look to it.
Assembly was not the easiest job in the world. Some of the older reviews complained about a lack of labeling on the drawer rollers. Mine were labeled. There was one point in the instructions where I laid out paneling in the way the picture had them, but then in the next step they changed the layout. But this is just nick-picking on my part. There was one part that really bothered me though. In the beginning of the instructions it said that if you purchased the hutch that should be assembled first. Later in the instructions it give steps to drill holes in the deck to attach the hutch. I could see by that point in time people being on auto-pilot and drilling those holes without having a hutch to mount in them.
Like the other reviewers said, take your time and look closely at the instructions and you'll have a nice quality desk that should last a good while.

Excellent Product

Pros: excellent product for the price., good material, good value, good finish, price you can not go wrong., looks expensive
Cons: very poor instructions, insufficient markings, tough to decide which rail goes on what side
It is a good product. Sturdy. Durable. Good workmanship. Good value for the money. It seems and look more valuable than what you paid for. Delivery was timely. Customer service was good.
WARNING
The assembly instructions are not user friendly.
a) The book could have warned that if you have not purchased the table with the hutch SKIP the page. DO NOT DRILL THRU & THRU HOLE.
b) The cabinet drawer guides can be numbered with the corresponding number on the sides that it goes on along with the arrows to indicate where the wheels would be.
c) All the planks/ boards/ would pieces were not numbered or named.
d) I did not get the right screws instead I got the longer ones instead the short ( I had ordered two tables thus I could and see the screws in the cabinet door) ones that went thru and thru.
Overall very nice product but very poor and insufficient instructions and shoddy supplies packing and inspection thereof.

Very Good Purchase for Price

Pros: price, looks great, sturdy
Cons: cabinet runner instructions lacking., delivered day after promised.
I am very impressed with the way the desk looks and the way it fit together. It seems to be very sturdy. I bought the desk to put my new computer on and have room for every day tasks as well. There is plenty of room for both. The HP tower I have fits in the left side great with plenty of room. The file drawer has enough room for about a dozen hanging files which will take care of the most used files. There is also enough room to put an all-in-one printer on top of the desk. The instructions were fine except for the labeling of the cabinet runners. The instructions said they were marked AA, BB, etc. but they weren't. Took me a little longer to figure where to put them but it all worked out. The delivery was a day late. I waited all day for it and then they couldn't tell me why but they would call the next day. It was delivered the next day.

great desk

Pros: tidy, attractive, plenty of storage, funtional for intended use, practical, sturdy, has all needed features, low price
Cons: cant think of 1
this is one of the best pirchases ive ever made. looks great is perfect for any space and works great in smalll homes and offices as well. i have a smaller home where the computer room is also a den,so im always looking for a desk that also looks nice as it is in plain view at all times. because its a small place im usually restricted to purchasing this type of thing at ikea.but usually unhappy with the looks/quality of the merchandise. i searched everywhere online and never had any knowledge of office depot. i found this absolutely perfect desk at an unblievably low price. it is beautiful, durable, size perfect for any home, and most importantly practicle and comepletely functiomnal for its intended use. lots of hidden storage so your work area is neat looking while still haveing all your needed work materials easily at hand. i absoloutely could not be any happier with this desk and the price was unbelievable it far surpassed all my expectations for the price i payed. the desk is wonderful reguardless the low price was just an added perk. would highly reccomend this desk to anyone trying to achieve a usefull work area while maintaining an attractive room.couldn't be more satisfied. i searched for 3 days online and abt a week in stores in person.if you've stubbled upon this choice.look no further, this desk is ideal.

Nice product

Pros: looks good and we like it
Cons: not easy to assemble instructions hard to follow
When it says that it is easy to assemble don't believe that. It took my wife and I between 4 and 5 hours to assemble it, but once it was assembled we couldn't complain. The instructions are somewhat hard to follow at times and you do need to be careful on what you put on the desk because it seems it could scratch and nick quite easily. It looks great and for the money what more can you expect.

Excellent overall assembled desk

Pros: as described (no surprises), decent quality rollers for drawers, actually has a cable management concept, unique "color" (not too dark not too light), all wood pieces well marked for assembly
Cons: if not carefull corners can chip
I read a lot of revews and was concerned with assembly. Assembly was not that hard at all. If you take your time and read the instructions step by step it goes together with zero issues. The only tricky part of the entire assembly is the "Drawer" and "Cabinet" arms marked "Left" and "Right". What I did was layed out all the arms marked "RIGHT" on one side of the room, and the ones marked "LEFT" on the other from shortest to longest. If you actually look at the diagrams and then the match the holes, you'll get it right on the first time. Just remind yourself, if it's not looking like it's lined up properly, it's probably not the correct piece(s). I spent 15 minutes to unbox everything and then had dinner. I had the desk upright and usable in under two hours. I took a break and then finished the draweres and cabinet door in under 30 minutes. So total time to assemble was under 2 1/2 hours. I'm a normal guy with minimal mechanical skill but I can follow directions and take my time. As for the desk itself, it's a really cool color. It's not too dark and not to light. The "Brushed" maple has a really nice look, this is the first piece of assembled furniture in my new house and it doesn't look too modern (like a piece of dorm furniture) but not to cheesey (like most assembled furniture). The hardware (read: metal pieces) are of high quality, rollers roll and hinges open/shut. It's only one drawer but having a haning file drawer is a nice feature instead of 3 small "junk" drawers. Another nice thing about this desk is that it has made an effort at cable management (yes, it's only few simple cut out holes - but a lot of desks have NONE). You can get your cables from the keyboard tray to the Computer without stretching-allowing the drawer to open and shut w/o fear of your mouse or keyboard shooting out the backside. We have it pushed against a wall, but the calbes are not visible which is nice. If you need a sub-$200 desk that looks "good" and has functional parts to it, this is a good buy. Don't be scared about the assembly, lay out your pieces and take your time.
