A good replacement

Pros: Features, Battery Life, Easy to Use, Display Screen, Design
Cons: Sound Quality, Expensive
I had a Toshiba Satellite A665 laptop (Core i7) that was awesome but it crashed (the hard drive died) just before I could finish a school project (backed up before crash lol) that I had to send in before 10 pm that night... and it was 8:35pm. No time to run to the Office Depot I bought it from so I ran to the closest one. Unfortunately they sold the last Toshiba Satellite A665s (that had the same specs as mine) the day before but the other store (the one I didn’t have time to go to) had one left. They did everything they could (kudos to Office Depot for the great customer service) but I needed one that night and asap since the other store was 20 minutes away from the store I was at and 30 minutes away from my house… I had to have something. I asked the guy there what would be a good replacement and he suggested the HP pavilion. Though the processor isn’t as fast and the speakers aren’t as good as the Toshiba it has the same RAM (6GB), the HP’s hard drive is twice the size (300gb vs 600gb), a fingerprint security feature (I love it), bigger screen (15.6 vs 17.3), HP has 2 graphic card so when it goes to power save mode it actually switches to the onboard graphics card so it lasts longer than the Toshiba. All in all I’ll give this laptop a 4 star rating mainly for its draw backs: speakers, CPU and it’s a little pricy for a weaker CPU.

Very Impressed

Pros: Value for Money, Features, Battery Life, Quiet, Display Screen, Design, Performance
Purchased this computer just afew days ago and I am very impressed with it. It is fast and handles everything I have thrown at it. I opened over twelve windows on the internet while writing a document in word and watching a movie. I haven't noticed any issues with heat yet but I do have the computer on a chill mat. I bought this computer on sale for 749.00 with a 50.00 mail in rebate and 99.00 for windows home and student. What a deal......

The Worst Computer I've Ever Owned

Pros: Battery Life, Design
Cons: Display Screen, Sound Quality, Performance, Expensive
This computer has to be the slowest computer on the market. It's designed so that it saves on power usiing a Quad Core Processor running at 1.8 ghz. It does NOT, warning, NOT utilize all four cores for any single core applications. Converting any video is done with a single core which can take up to an hour or over. I have an Acer Aspire with a Pentium Dual Core P6100 that coverts movies in 38 minutes and under, depending on the size. The overall performance is just horrible and sluggish. They try to compensate for less processing power by using 6 gigs of RAM, this does nothing.
Applications and just regular web browsing are very slow as well. The Beats Audio is nothing but a gimmic, the speakers sound as if they are popping, and can't handle the volume. In other words is a very poor exprience with all the hype. The build is great as with most mid to upper range HP machines. Keyboard is great, burning is ok, but yet again slow. The graphics performance is decent but nothing special. Battery life is good around 4 hours with the 9 cell battery. I gave this one to my dad and took back my Acer, which i'll never give up.
So don't be fooled by the specs, this thing is slow as molassas. Sorry folks.

Very good buy..........

Pros: Battery Life, Display Screen, Performance
Cons: bloot ware.
This is a great laptop, this laptop will play call of duty 4, call of duty 2, bulletstorm, battlefield 2, left 4 dead 2, f.e.a.r. & other games. It does not run them on the hightest setting but it is not a $1500.00 laptop either. I got this to use while I am camping & get stuck in the camper on rainey days & check e-mail. Battery life is very good as it switches to another graphics card automaticly when it is not pluged into the wall socket & back to the better one when pluged in. Beats audo is real nice, better with headphones. The 9 cell battery runs a little warm so I have mine on a laptop cooler that has two fans that run under it & keeps the temps down. I have had mine now for 5 months & never a bit of trouble & sure beats my first laptop from HP that I paid more money for & this one is alot faster than it ever was....

Awesome Laptop

Pros: quad core cpu, 6 gigs of ram that can be upgraded to 8 gigs, dual video cards for great graphics with all tasks
Cons: pricey
Great laptop!! It's a bit pricey but after I got started and found out what it could handle, it was well worth the price. It's faster than alot of the desktop PCs I've owned. It plays online games with no problems, it handles any program I have put into it including Autocad, which is a very demanding program. I was looking for a laptop that I could take on the road with me when I travel, this one happened to be on sale and after playing with the demo for a bit I decided to go ahead and get it. It has turned out being a replacement for my desktop, its that good. I suggest to anyone looking for a laptop that can handle the demanding tasks or as a replacment for a desktop.
